InfoGard is one of two Labs that exclusively evaluates Scanning Vendors for certification by the Payment Card Industry, Inc. (PCI) (an organization jointly owned by all the major credit card companies) required before scanning vendors may access the International Payment Card Network.

Prior to the creation of PCI Security Standards Council, InfoGard collaborated with Visa International to developed the Derived Test Requirements (DTR) for Pin Entry Devices and became Visa International’s first evaluation Lab.
