InfoGard's MasterCard Point of Sale (POS) Terminal Security (PTS) program evaluates wireless POS terminals and Internet stand-alone Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) suite-enabled POS terminals.  Requirements in place since January 2007 mandate that non-compliant wireless POS terminals and Internet stand-alone TCP/IP-enabled POS devices be replaced with terminals that meet MasterCard's PTS required Data Encryption and all PTS Security Standards.
