What is CalHIPSO?

The California Health Information Partnership and Services Organization (CalHIPSO) is one of three Regional Extension Centers (RECs) established within the State of California to offer services and build resources in an efficient, economical, scalable, and sustainable manner. CalHIPSO contracts with Service Partners that assist providers with the adoption of electronic health records (EHRs).

What are Regional Extension Centers?

The HITECH Act establishes programs to accelerate the adoption and use of electronic health records. As part of this Act, Regional Extension Centers were established nationwide to help primary care providers implement and meaningfully use electronic health records and engage in health information exchange over the next two years.
