Beginning in 2010, Electronic Health Record (EHR) software Vendors were able to certify their products to enable their Customers to meet U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) Meaningful Use criteria to receive EHR Incentive Payments.
Healthcare providers and Hospitals using EHR software that has been customized, developed in house, or adopted prior to the availability of certification must engage an ONC Authorized Test and Certification Body (ATCB) to certify their software if they wish to receive EHR Incentives.
Although the Testing process is the same if initiated by an EHR software Vendor requiring product certification or by a hospital needing certification for an installed EHR, certification in a Hospital setting typically requires additional preparation. For this reason, InfoGard provides a range of assistance to ensure that Hospitals are well prepared to undergo Testing. Whether using our self-guided mapping tools to identify installed software corresponding to required Meaningful Use Modules, or our version control templates to identify the certification target, InfoGard Test Engineers and Consultants are available to help. We offer both remote and on-site support for every step of the Certification Process from initiation through preparation, to completed testing.
As an ATCB that has performed well over 100 certifications, InfoGard knows that even with the best preparation there can be unexpected test results. This is why our Testers provide immediate pass/fail results and allow tests to be re-performed at no additional cost during the week-long test window. Any Modules that do not pass during the test window can be re-tested at a later date without having to re-pay or re-test Modules that passed previously.
