Hospital Meaningful Use Incentive Payment Security Risk Analysis

In order for Hospitals to receive payments under the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program, they must undergo a Security Risk Analysis as required by the Hospital Meaningful Use Measure 14. Although Hospitals may conduct their own risk analyses, in many instances it is difficult to achieve the independence, expertise, and efficiency that can be provided by a company specializing in providing Risk Assessment and Security services.

InfoGard’s qualifications in the areas of Healthcare and Security allow us to rapidly conduct a Security Risk Analysis tailored to a Hospital’s individual needs without tying up valuable Hospital resources.

  • InfoGard is a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB) for Meaningful Use Testing and Certification of EHR software.
  • We have nearly 20 years of experience as a government-accredited Security Evaluation laboratory.
  • We are the only DEA approved certifier of software for Electronic Prescriptions for Controlled Substances (EPCS).
  • Our personnel are trained and certified to conduct Assessments under numerous methodologies.
  • We use a mix of on-site, remote, and automated Assessment techniques to ensure a thorough and rapid Security Risk Assessment.

After conducting a Security Risk Analysis, InfoGard provides the Hospital with a report that clearly identifies, categorizes, and ranks the Security risks. The report allows for updates to be easily planned according to the specific needs of the Hospital. InfoGard also offers an Update Assessment Service, providing Hospitals with a revised report identifying updates that have successfully addressed earlier identified risks in the EHR system, so that the complete Risk Assessment will not need to be re-performed.
