The U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) now requires Federal Information Processing 140-2 (FIPS 140-2) Validation.

Directive 6500 of the VA's Information Security Program was instituted to ensure departmentwide compliance with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) of 2002 and the Security of VA information and informations systems administered by the VA or on its behalf.  The VA has issued Information Security Handbook 6500 (http://www1.va.gov/vapubs/viewPublication.asp?), which is applicable to all VA organizations and administrations, to provide the specific procedures and operational requirements to implement this directive.

InfoGard is the world’s leading Cryptovalidation laboratory and expert in providing Healthcare providers with robust Cryptographic applications to resolve identity, authentication, and Security challenges. We are pleased to be conducting FIPS 140-2 validations for products for use by the VA.
