Healthcare

The Security and privacy of Healthcare IT is receiving increasing attention. No matter what your particular need, InfoGard’s intimate understanding of security and privacy technology and compliance requirements means we can help. InfoGard’s role as certifier for Electronic Prescriptions for Controlled Substances (EPCS) makes us very familiar with the leading edge of healthcare security requirements. Because of their rigor and focus on subjects that are new to healthcare, EPCS requirements will likely be adopted in other healthcare areas.

Smart Card/ID

It is an exciting time in the Identification (ID) market. The ID market is one of the fastest growing technology markets in the world due to the numerous healthcare, transit, government, border, passport, contactless payment, first responder, etc. trials and deployments currently being conducted. The use of smartcards and tokens to manage identity is here to stay.

At the core of the ID market is cryptography and how it is implemented to best achieve the balance between security and individual privacy.

Our goal in this market is to work with our customers and systems owners to help them identify and implement the best known cryptography and security for their particular solution. Our knowledge in this area comes from years of evaluating smartcard and identity based cryptography products (see FIPS 140-2), assessments of high availability secure systems, and from our recent approval as a GSA accredited FIPS 201 laboratory (see FIPS 201).

Financial Industry

The Financial Industry requires the best security possible.

InfoGard has worked closely with Industry giants (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, etc) in the Payment Card Industry), product vendors, the American National Standards Institute, Federal banks, and local community banks to address and improve security requirements.

We’ve been asked to develop security requirements and pioneer evaluation programs because we uniquely understand the physical and logical security requirements required to protect financial transactions. This knowledge combined with our cryptography experience allows us to share standards based and best practice implementations.

Federal Government

Entering into the Federal Market is attractive for security product vendors given the large market size and potential opportunity. We recognize that entering and capturing opportunities is challenging and can appear daunting when examining the Federal security requirements, certifications, costs to enter, and required internal return on investment.

Since our inception, we have been helping customers achieve their Federal Government security certifications goals (see Common Criteria, FIPS 140-2, and FIPS 201). We share our knowledge of Federal Agency requirements and make recommendations to assist our customers, with the prioritization of certifications, allowing them to achieve the greatest return on their investment possible.
